PrayerMap ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data when you use PrayerMap (the "Service").

Account Information
When you register, we collect your email address, a hashed password, your display name, and your selected timezone. We also store an optional profile photo that you upload.
Prayer Content
The Service stores the prayer subjects, prayer details, notes, and schedule information that you choose to enter. This content belongs to you and is used solely to provide the Service.
Usage Data
We record your last login timestamp and session activity (which prayer items are marked as prayed, answered, or paused) in order to deliver core functionality such as scheduling and reporting.
Cookies & Sessions
We use a single, strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service — display your prayer list, generate your schedule, and produce reports.
- Account management — authenticate you, reset your password, and communicate service notices.
- Service improvement — aggregate, anonymized usage patterns may be used internally to improve the product. We do not sell individual data.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your prayer content is private to your account and is never shared with other users or organizations outside your tenant without your explicit action.
We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently delete your account and associated prayer data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Security
Passwords are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes and are never stored or transmitted in plain text. Access to the database is restricted to the application server. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information (via your Profile page).
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Export your data (feature planned for a future release).
